Sketch and Stash and a DT card

Hi there it has been very springlike weather here in London today with some spring showers and tiny bits of sunshine. I have decided to combine some DT work with a challenge.

I have been watching 9 tapes of video to gather evidence towards a complaint against my local council. It meant seeing my beautiful babies growing up and it brought back some endearing memories and made me want to grab the image on my card and make one xx

I have used my never before used Baby Girl which will be available from April 1st at the digi doodle shop to enter the sketch and stash challenge . I made a patchwork quilt from my Penny Lane MME papers for my cute baby girl to lie on. I used some ribbon and embellishments from my stash and made a sentiment tag from papers and a stamp.

This is for my eldest son who will be 7 on Sunday. It seems like only yesterday I was awaiting his arrival.

Hop over and see the DT creations on the blog and to check out the challenge. I purchased the new Crafters companions CD roms on Create and Craft today. I can't wait for my flower fairies to come.

Judy has a gorgeous collection of designs in her store so please hop over to the Digi Doodle Store and take look. There is a fantastic inspirations gallery.

There will be a new Digi Doodle challenge blog and here is a date for your diary April 1st is the date of our first challenge

I have made an easel card and a matching keyring as an Easter gift for my childrens teachers. I love this Iris image. I resized the image to 7 cm by 13cm and I added a verse from John 11:25,26 to make it relevant to Easter. You could put a sympathy greeting or a Happy Birthday greeting over the top if you wish. This image is so versitile.

I have made two projects to show you how versitile the image is. I have made a shrink plastic keyring and an Easel card.

I printed the image out onto photocopy paper that is 120gram in weight.

To make the keyring I firstly punched a hole in the corner of a piece of frosted shrink plastic.

I then used masking tape to adhere the frosted shrink plastic to the image that I printed. I traced over it with a black pen. However I did not trace the writing at this point.

I then coloured in the image and background with promarkers. Once I had coloured the image I traced over the verse.

I then shrunk the plastic with a heat gun. I added my keyring and I added some ribbon to make it more funky.

For my card I used the same image that I had traced over. So this is really a cost effective gift and card.

I used the same colour promarkers to colour the image. As you can see they become much darker once you shrink the shrink plastic.

I used H2O's to colour in the background on the card. I then added some Shabby green distress ink and a stamped border.

I used K&co, papermania and MME papers. I made an easel card and added a bouquet of irises and some ribbon to finsh off my card.

This angle shows the glimmer you get with the H2O's.

Here is my card I made. I rotated the sketch to suit my image. My image is called the Haiti relief stamp. This stamp is donating money to help the victims in Haiti so is a worthwhile buy as well as being a gorgeous image. I used sakura gel pens, stardust pens and promarkers to colour the image. I used MME penny lane papers and Bella Bella, which I distressed with shabby green distress inks. The corner stamps are by Clarity stamps. I coloured in some ribbon with a promarker to match the colours scheme. I cut out some butterflies from one of the sheets of Bella Bella papers and I added some pearls, flowers and a heart charm from my stash.

Hi there another wonderful sunny day in London. I have been over to Covent Garden to build a bear workshop. My youngest daughter was 5 yesterday and as a treat I said we could go to build a bear with her best friend. I will post some pics later with another card I need to post. Oh I so wish I was young again. They asked everyone in the shop to sing happy birthday to her it was so lovely x

This week at Winter Wonderland we have had a week of new beginnings. So this week this is optional in your theme along with the sketch remember to keep it christmas themed though.

We have had to say goodbye to some of our friends who have New Beginnings, commitments and ventures to focus on. They are three very special people and we are all very sad over at Winter Wonderland this week.

Joey is leaving us due to new projects and family commitments. Lesley is leaving us due to work and family commitments. Teri S is leaving us to concentrate on her Digital Stamp Design business 'Delicious Doodles' - Although she has kindly agreed to remain a regular sponsor.
We are wishing all three every success in the future and will miss them so much.

Some more new beginnings at Winter Wonderland we are going to be having a 'Designer in the Spotlight' slot every month which will be for two people. So look out for some wonderful Guest designers here at Winter Wonderland.

Also from this week onwards we will feature our top three cards on the blog and those winners will be able to proudly display our Top Three banner on their blogs.

We are also having a DT call so just make a card for this weeks challenge and add DT next to your name.

It's a crafters Companion and Tuesday Taggers challenges

Hello Well the spring has sprung and everyone appears to be happy now the sun is shining. We have had two glorious days here in London. I have had to be out and about doing jobs and making it to appointments of various kinds so the perfect weather.

My youngest,Max, who will be two next week (my that has whizzed by) had his 12 month injection today. Being a small man he is not the best patient and he cried in the waiting room without even seeing the needles. He is having a wee nap so all seems okay. I came home and was just starting work on this card and the phone rang. Harry my eldest son had smashed his nose on the playground. I went in and he seems okay now but it looked bruised. Apparently there was a huge amount of blood and this scared Georgina my eldest daughter. He wanted to stay at school as they are making fire engines out of butter tubs and he has cooking club. They are going to keep an eye on him.

This card is for two challenges It's a crafters companion have a sketch and a colour theme. The colour theme is cream, gold and one other colour so I chose this purple. I used design set from an older crafters companion CD rom called Papercrafts set two. I love the papers as you can use them to make flowers like this one. It was a great excuse to dig out the CD rom too. I used a swirl stamp which is the theme at Tuesday taggers (swirls and curls) I used some distress ink to make it more cream coloured. I used my Martha Stewart doily lace punch and added some gems. The ribbon is from my stash too.

Tuesday Taggers are sponsered by Crafty Individuals so hop over and take a look at the challenge blog and their shop.
