Papertake Weekly - spots and stripes

The theme at Papertake weekly is spots and stripes this week. I used my cuttlebug swiss dots folder to make the spots element and some stripey K&co paper. I used some of my new cute companion images to create a little picture. I added a ribbon and a button. I used my white gel pen to do lots of highlighting. Is anyone watching "The biggest loser" My partners friend is on it "Kevin".

Cute Card Thursday - Mirror Mirror

High hopes challenge - anything but a card!

Just my cup of tea at high hopes challenge this week. I made a candle. I used a transfer sheet to stamp the image onto. I used stazon. I then put the image onto the candle and decorated. So simple, but made this £1 candle, look so more expensive. I love this stamp ,more, each time I use it!!!!

Another view to show how I took the image around the candle.

3 challenges,one card and a birthday girl!!!!!!

I'm hiding behind my fringe!!!!! Hi I can't beleive it she's nine ,my first baby!! I
Happy birthday beautiful!
Hi combined three challenges today. A spoonful of sugar , Sketch and stash and Dotties world .
The theme at A spoonful of sugar is to use Blue and Green ,hence my colour choice. I used the sketch at sketch and stash and my new woodware punches from my stash. I used a Holly and Madison download from Charmed cards and crafts for the dotties world challenge which is to create a card for a teenager (using a download from charmed cards and craft). I used copics for the colouring in. I used some K and Co papers and Gems from my stash.

The Crafty Pad - Gatefold card

Hello here is my card for The crafty pad challenge .
This week we would like you to make a Gatefold card - any embellis can be added that you wish to use. :)
The challenge will be open to everyone. If you do not use a Crafty Pad stamp
your name will go in the draw once - BUT anyone who uses a Crafty Pad stamp will get their name in twice. :)
The prize will be any single Crafty Pad stamp of your choice. :) :)
We would also like to know what is your favourite Crafty Pad stamp?
I made the gatefold card and then I used my punch to make a stencil and used the twinkling H20's to make the black flowers. I then punched some flowers and grass from white card and newspaper. I then added gems to some of them. I stamped my favourite stamp Faith and embossed her. I paperpieced her hat and jacket with some newspaper. I added a harsh black background of china black H20's and then I added a flower embellishment in the corner. Inside the card I added some black card and a happy birthday sentiment.
I am having a horrible day as the sky people are being a mare and will not send someone to sort out their mess today. I am fuming!!! They ballsed it up and will not come and sort it. That is the polite way of saying what I want to say. They connected my neighbours box to our dish. I am awaiting a manager to call me to come and sort it.

Stamptacular Sunday challenge #3-Charmed I'm sure!

Hello I have made this card for the Stamptacular Sunday challenge which requests that we use a charm on our designs this week and a stamped image of your choice. I used my little gorjuss girl with attitude. I coloured her using my fave combo of Copics and H20's. I then cuttlebugged the white cardstock and painted the raised embossing with my spiced pumpkin H20. I layered the image onto some Basic Grey Marakkesh paper and white card stock. I added some ribbon a butterfly charm and some flowers and a sentiment tag. I love her she is so wonderful to colour.
No television for us as the man came to fix a neighbours Sky dish and messed up our one! No engineers available until tomorrow. Grrrrr!!!! More time to craft though.

Colour Create - Green, Orange and Brown (male card)

I made this card on returning from lunch at friends and an exhausting time watching the marathon. I will hopefully get the kids to bed shortly and return to visit you all.
The challenge at colour create was to make a card for a male using Green, orange and Brown. I used my high hopes farm image. I made the sky into a sunset to keep with the colours added a button and some leather to embellish and I added some paper piercing. Kept the sentiment quite generic.

Basic Grey challenge - Christines sketch

Hello ladies and gents. I have had a busy day we went up to watch the marathon. It is a 10 minute walk away. They are so brave and fabulous to take part in this gruelling race. All the money that is raised for charity is amazing. We saw Katie Price and Peter Andre, she looked very tired and we are at the 12 mile point. We then went to a friends for lunch it was delicious and the kids had fun which is lovely.
I made this card yesterday for the Basic Grey challenge a sketch by Christine. Another gorjuss girl set 2. I love her! I found the quote on the net. I used copics and H20's again. I used the beautiful Marakkesh range. It is a bit squiffy so I added some stitching. I painted the flowers with H20's

I added some pebbles too. The sketch I really enjoyed working with but kept to it pretty much.

Cute card Thursday - Getting edgy

I think I love gorjuss set 2 more than set one already!!!! I have a feeling these girls are gonna be used loads. This one seemed right for the challenge at Cute card Thursday she is very hippy like so I think she suits the distressed, torn edges feel. I have distressed all my papers which are from the eva range by Basic Grey. I then tore around my image the gorjuss girl is coloured using copics and the background is using H20's. I added some flowers ( spacers and sentiment from Helen thanks I love them) and I added some flourishes.
I may have to give my girlie this one as she is fanatical about green.

Friday sketchers - murmurs sketch

Oh adorable sketch by murmur this week at Friday ,go and see it. I hope I have done it justice. Look I am loving my postman (not literally),this morning he brought gorjuss girls set 2!!!! I came back from FAB Friday a playgroup I go to and they were on the doormat. My eldest daughter is 9 next week so I made her this card ,hmm gonna have to keep the blog outta sight until Tuesday. I kept it very simple just adding a circle for the image as it pleased my eye.

Whiff of joy - Heathers sketch

Hello everyone it is a gorgeous day ,that i have not made the most of been washing and cleaning!!!! I made a yummy curry with our leftover chicken and made this little card too. I coloured the image a couple of weeks ago as I wanted to play with scene making and thought he would fit the sketch perfectly. I used a variety of papers from box so can't remember who they are by. I coloured in using a mixture of promarkers and copics. I used a stitch template to place the bling and made some rosette flowers. I have been very understated as the image is the fussy part of the card.
There is a whiff of joy Charlie knight stamp on offer this week so go over and have a peek.

High hopes - Distressing

Hi High hopes challenge this week is to use distressing. I love this technique so I went all out to distress as much as I could. I used my knight stamp as he is oldy worldy and that is what distressing makes me think of. I used another stamp to create the backing paper. I added lots of ink and texture stamps after filing the edges of my paper with an emery board. I really loved the challenge.

Dare U 2 digi stamp - Pink and Green

As you can see i am so into digi stamps at the minute so I had to join in with the challenge over at Dare U 2 digi stamp this week. I got these from Grab-a-doodle-do and I thought add an extra challenge to myself and make a mans card for the challenge which is to use Pink and green.

sketch saturday meets Colour Create

Having been to the wedding bash yesterday I am a bit behind with challenges so I have had to start combining them today. Well first post today is for fave sketch blog Sketch Saturday I decided to combine it with Colour create whose challenge is Pink, white and black and to incorporate polka dots if you wish too. Now I have been quite radical here and I flipped the sketch and popped it on a circle card.

I felt a buzz of creativity this morning following a bit of country goodness yesterday! Th beautiful surroundings of yesterday just perked me up no end. I have had a restful morning watching the Shanghai Grand Prix and Jimmy has taken the babes out so I can have a few hours peace!!

The card is coloured with copics and I also coloured in my dots with copics on the ribbon. I used doodlebug papers and cuttlebugged some bassil bling card stock. The image is a download ( holly and Madison) available at charmed cards and craft.

Friday Sketchers

Hello here is my entry for the Friday sketchers sketch I used an image from the lovely Helen (Thanks hun), we did an image swap and she very kindly send me a selection of new sugar nellie images and some spacers (love those Helen) and some ribbon. I layered her up and paper pierced around the image. I added some flowers and the text. I kept very rigidly to the sketch and did not add too many bits and bobs. Off to the wedding later getting so excited as I have not been to many and it is the first I have been to with my partner maybe he might get a hint he 12 years together and he still hasn't asked, me mother of his four children.

Just Magnolia - First challenge

Hello sorry I haven't blogged for a while I have been a bit busy. I have had some great news. In Southwark there is a scheme called Cleaner,Greener, Southwark which is an opportunity to put a bid forward to make an area more attractive and enviromentally clean and safer. Well I have had my bid for gardens for those above ground floor shortlisted. I have never done anything like this before and I wrote the bid very quickly one day on the computer. I am astounded. I have to attend the community council meeting to see if I will get funding for the project. I feel so chuffed to have something I thought of approved.
I had my haircut I will try and get OH to take a piccie later when I am made up for the wedding to show you all. I have had the two girls done too. I painted the nails blue. I am dressing casual smart.

I used the sketch at Just Magnolia by Donalda. I love this sketch I flipped it. I used Edwin as I need to make some boys cards. I used fresh spring colours.

Whiff of joy! Black and white and a hint of colour

Spare a thought for the hillsborough 96 today it is 20years since this terrible tradegy happened. 96 people were crushed to death. For those of you who don't know too many people entered a football match back in 1989 and it meant 9 I have been a Liverpool FC fan since I was 6 so I have just watched a very moving memorial service on TV.

I made this as I watched and I think these colours so suit a thinking of you card. I have used musing Melinda from the Whiff of joy collection of guardian angels. I have also been decorating my daughters nails with pink glittery nail varnish how fun is that. I am deciding whether to do orange of blue. My shoes are blue and my top is a mixture of colours that I am wearing for the wedding any advice will be appreciated. I have dyed the mop a lovely chestnut brown and I am having it cut into a bob on Friday. I need a radical change!!!! I am getting quite excited now.

Truely scrumptious - sketch

A gorgeous sketch you must take a look at the Truely scrumptious challenge this week. I love the layers. I wanted to use another of my Dotties world ( available at charmed cards and crafts ) downloads. I am going to give this to my sister who has a birthday next week. I fancied the distressed look for this sketch. I coloured in my image (from the Holly and Madison download) I then chose my papers from the paper mania simply elegant colossal paper pack. The images are just so cool. I added some flourishes made using my sizzix dies and some bling! Oh I have just noticed I didn't forfill the card for a child criteria DOH!!!!!!!

High hopes challenge - Paper piercing

I made this card for the high hopes challenge which is to use paper piercing. I paper pierced where all the hand stitching is. I used four high hopes images for this card. I wanted to create a stone bridge I hope it works not 100%. I used a copic pen to colour the ribbon as I didn't have any in the colour I wanted.

3 in 1 card!

I have made this card for 3 challenges Papertake weekly has a theme of pastels so I chose pastel colours of green and yellow. A spoonful of sugar asks us to use die cuts so I used my sizzix flourish die cut for my embellishments at the side of the card and added some white mulberry paper flowers. I used my fabulous new download (over 60 images included) from charmed cards and craft for the Dotties world challenge that also asked us to use no patterned papers and to create our own background. With the scene I created I did not want to overshadow it with a cluttered background ,so I simply added some yellow backing paper and some cuttlebugged card and made the flourish. I hope this card meets all the different criteria set by the challenges. It is my first card made using this set of downloads and I loved using them and highly recommend them.

An Award from my blogging buddies!

I am truely delighted to receive this award from two of my lovely blogging buddies Sue and Helen . Both of whom I would like to throw the award right back too as their blogs make me smile everyday go and take a peek if you haven't already. Anyhow I have to pass this to 5 people.

Dare u 2 Digi Stamp - Bling

I have joined the ever growing fans of digi stamping and I downloaded my first ones at the weekend. I am entering this card into the Dare U 2 Digi stamp challenge . I used Chris's scene digi stamps for this challenge. I wanted to create a sepia feel with my copics not sure if it is that but I quite like how it is. I used gold card and a diamente buckle as my bling! Hope you like it.

Stamptacular Sunday challenge - One for the birds

Hello the challenge at Stamptacular Sunday Challenge is one for the birds. I made this card using my crafty individual stamp some swirls and I also made some bead swirls. Please excuse the glue marks ( now gone) I also used glimmer mists to make the background onto which I stamped my bird.

The crafty pad challenge - Sketch

The crafty pad has a sketch for this weeks challenge. Debbie has also released her new stamps they are cute ones and the girl is called Belinda go over and have a peek they are only £2.99 each and the P&P is free!!!!

Colour Create - Coffee and cream

A very Happy Easter to you all!!!

Well thanks to the marvellous theme at colour create this week I managed to get my friends wedding card made hurray! The optional challenge is distressing. I had been mulling over an idea for the card and decided I would go with whatever the them was at colour create as this challenge gives you the option to use a variety of technique and style of card. So the theme is vintage for Anita's wedding card. I used a vintage image that I sprayed with a shine spray and then heat gunned. I then sprayed it again this caused a kind of distressed feel. I then chose some papers to match and created two hearts one I cuttlebugged with my congratulations folder and one I used some card I stencilled sprayed with glimmer mists. I cut out some frames with my nesties and distressed all the edges of everything on the card. I computer generated the sentiment. I made my bouquet and I also added some roses to the top corner. I also have decorated the inside that is my sneaky peek. I am hoping she likes it she has an Textiles Art degree so lots to live up to.

How do you eat yours - Basic Grey challenge

Okay this week at Basic grey challenge blog the theme is chocolate soft centres. So for example you have to use brown and green if you like mint chocolates. Well I love lots of chocolates but my favourites at this time of year is Cadbury's cream eggs. I have used the colours from the foil wrapper which are red, blue and yellow and the colours of choclate and white and yellow for the egg. I received this sugar nellie shopaholic stamp today and the Marakesh papers from Basic grey and I also received the Mulberry paper flowers from Wild Orchid crafts. Poor postman must of been cursing me. I paperpieced her top.
