Sketch Saturday #14

I created this cute girls card for this sketch. I sourced a free colouring- in image and re- sized it on my PC. I then coloured it in with colouring pencils. I created the princess crowns by die cutting onto card sprayed with glimmer mist and added some gems. It was my first go at a sketch saturday and I really enjoyed it.

flower embellishment

I have made this flower embellishment using the following:
Ingredients

baby wipes
glimmer mists
ribbon
buttons
wool
needle
scissors
PVA glue
I sprayed the baby wipe with glimmer mist and let it dry. It becomes like handmade paper and looks lovely. It also has a quality of felt about it when you colourise it.
I then used my darning needle to thread ribbon through the biggest button. I did this 3 times in different directions. I double tied it and cut the ends. After this I added another button using the PVA glue. I threaded wool onto this button before putting it on top of the larger button.
I drew petal shapes in a circular pattern using the cutter as a template. I cut out the flower shape and turned it over. Then I stuck the big button embellished with ribbon on top.

Kaboodle Doodle challenge #1 free download

As I was blogging I came across this fun challenge blog. I have designed the above card using the free challenge kit download. I used acetate and glossy paper to print these fab doodles by Kaboodle designs. I know it was obvious but I could not resist making a flower. Anyone who looks at my stuff knows I adore flowers. I added a homemade button embellishment ( made in the dark watching big brother) and some ribbon and some gold card. Check out the challenge a fun one.

Thank God It's Friday challlenge No 48 Women

Hi I found this challenge blog today and loved the theme women. So I created this little ATC. I love the image of eve and I used some glimmer mist mixed with PVA glue to create a minimal background. You can't see very well but I printed a tree. I added the forbidden fruit and Eve and this marvellous quote. So true hey girls! Sorry any boys out there. Sorry photography not too hot on this one. My first ATC swap I have swapped this with Crissi from the Arty girlz challenge.

Yes I know I should be getting out and about with the kids! But.......

I have found 2 new blogs today curtsy of Dawns award. So instead of getting the kids out I made this for creative Wednesday's Garden challenge. What a sheer joy to create. I used the following materials.
I also discovered some new techniques from http://www.rsmadness.com/

glue
tissue paper
sakura pens
stamps (english stamp Company,Joanna Sheen, crafty individuals)
glitter mists
baby wipes

Cute card Thursday challenge #25

As it is the six weeks holiday I thought I would include the kids work in this project. It is a card for Cute card Thursday challenge #25 the them is water. My son loves pirates so the kids had a colouring in session during the hols. As you can see my son loves the colour blue too. He coloured the boat, thanks Harry age 5. Georgie age 8 did the pirate, loves colour, like mother like daughter, and I added the background. The background is a mixture of acrylic and water colour, pens and pencil. I then reduced on the PC and I have made the card. This is a cute boys card.

Dutch Dare challenge #12

I have made this card for the Dutch Dare challenge #12. The theme is card for a girl. I made this using a collage made up of printed images. I had so much fun looking at the magazines and choosing the images to add to the vintage lady image. I used glimmer mists on card and stamped and embossed with a sculpey texture lace design stamp. I then added a vellum quote to some of the glimmer misted card. I added a ribbon to make it really girly! I may give it to my sister in law for her birthday.

ATC I feel aother new addiction!

I have made this ATC after making one for this weeks Arty girlz challenge. I think this is a seriously addictive pastime as they are so quick to do and so fun to design. I made this with my new crafty individuals stamps and some acrylic paints and some glimmer mists and some elusive image stamps and some embellishments from my craft hoard. I had a blast making it. I fee; quite tired today as my baby Max is teething and is not getting much of a rest. I have also been trying to get something sorted out and it is not. Still at least I can lose myself in a spot of crafty heaven.

Arty Girlz challenge #49 Summer

I have been busy creating this ATC with my new crafty individual stamps. I have made it for the Arty girlz challenge #49 the theme being summer. I painted the lady with sakura stardust pens and a watercolur brush. Arranged her in a collage and added some embellishments. As you can see she has been out enjoying the sunshine before she attends her summer ball!

Oh my Days!!!!! My necklace won.

I am feeling rather astounded. I won the arty girls challenge #48. I am sure my three monsters will enjoy playing with the cartoon characters. I can think of some great crafty things to do with/for them. I am sure my teething 5mth old baby will enjoy eating them, hang on, perhaps that is not such a good idea. Can't wait for them to arrive. LOL Pascalex

Dutch Dare Challenge #11

Hi this is my entry for the dutch dare challenge #11. I have made this get well card and added a citrus twist to the current vintage vibe. I have just discovered altered art and mixed media and so I am enjoying practising it. Here I have used collage and I stamped the flower and layered it.

My reminder list

I created this reminder list inspired by a project I saw on Kaths blog http://kath-allthatglitter.blogspot.com I created this reminder list yesterday evening. I created a background using glitter mists, stencils and acrylic paint. I then stamped on the wording using elusive image stamps . I then stamped some flowers ( elusive image stamps) onto a glitter mist background and cut them out. I created the reminder list on a graphics package. I then stuck it on. I then added the flowers and laminated. I used the crop-a-dile to punch holes and fix the eylets added a piece of leather with beads on and there it is. Ready to hang in my kitchen.

Monday Mixed Media challenge Numbers

I made this card, for my friend ,who gave birth yesterday to a baby boy. I am still new to the mixed media technique so this is a first time card. I hope to get lots of practise of this technique. I put lush on the baby vest as my friend is welsh and lush is used in Wales to describe something lovely or great or cute etc.

Altered art and mixed media work

Wow Wow Wow. I am just blown away by this technique it inspires the juices so much. I have been doing some more research on the web. I am awash with ideas and don't really know where to start.
Well I do because I have ordered some stamps from crafty individuals and I have been viewing some work by other artists. Roll on the arrival of my new toys ( mummies toys as they are known in our house).
Altered art and mixed media rocks!

Wow Max!

Max managed to stay sitting up today! He sat unaided for a good couple of minutes and I must say great photography Georgie (8yrs).

A collage Pendant/ Monday Mixed media challenge fashion

I have been inspired by the mixed media work I have been viewing on some inspirational blogs.
I decided to create this Polymer clay necklace with laminated vintage lady embellishment. I spritzed with glimmer mists. I used a mixture of clays and imprinted the rolled out clay with a sculpey textures stamp. I cut out a circle. I then laminated the glimmer misted image of the vintage lady and cut her out and added to necklace. I die cut some backing paper and put it on with liquid clay.
I then added jump rings and sandwiched them between 2 circles of clay. I then baked. I added some yellow/gold acrylic paint and then I glossed the pendant and added an antique chain.
This all came from a sketch I did in the morning.
I layed the piece on a backing paper I designed. I thought it complemented the colours I used.

Using up the leftovers

After a lovely night out I promised Jayne I would send her some photo's of the kids. I made this little card to put them in. I have been inspired by all the lovely vintage work that is around on peoples blogs. I used up the leftovers from the Artzy girlz challenge #47. I kind of wish I could of entered this one for that challenge instead.

Artzy girlz challenge #48

Shapes. Ok so I lied about a non crafty day! I am off out to see a friend tonight so I rose to the challenge of designing a craft using shapes and came up with this necklace made from polymer clay stamped with sculpey texture makers then cut into a circle and a heart, a border of bugle beads some liquid polymer clay and baked. When cooked I added some acrylic paint a black/bronze and some gloss varnish. I think it has that current vintage feel about it. I added a silver chain to modern it up a bit. I will be the bell of the ball I hope!

Another non crafting day!

I went to get injections for Bradie today and I am off to another appointment in a while! Busy, busy, busy!

A quiet day for me!

I managed to create a flower embellishment today! Too much washing and cleaning to catch up with!! A crafters nightmare. That sort of thing gets in the way of creativity. Certainly not inspiring. The kids however have been colouring and painting this afternoon. I am rather sad that I entered the artzy girlz challenge No47 already as they created some stunning backgrounds, patterned paper not shop brought!

I also thought I would add a picture of my youngest sampling my creation of peas and carrots!

Arty Girlz Challenge No. 47

No patterned paper only hand designed paper not shop brought. I created the paper using printer paper that I sprayed with glimmer mists I used vintage colours so that is why I chose a vintage graphic to print onto paper and spray with glimmer mist.
I let that dry then I chose one colour to make a background using an elusive image stamp ( Ruby Tuesday design a flower collection) I used black stazon and printed randomly. I then created a 3D flower using the same image stamped on to different colours.
I stamped a thank you banner matted and layered everything and added a ribbon to cheer the card up. I loved designing this. I love the image it is so adorable.

Polymer clay pendants

I have been busy again today. What a crafting week! I created some polymer clay pendants. I have made one necklace from these. I really enjoyed doing these.

For the red and black necklace I rolled out some pale grey clay used a circle cutter to cut out my pendant. I then stamped one of the elusive image diamente designs onto it. I baked it. When it was cool I coloured in the raised parts of the image with sukura stardust pens. I sprayed it with acrylic spray. I punched out a hole using a crop-a-dile and then beaded it. I choose the beads after creating the pendant. I find this works best for me.

A budding artist

Today we went to Art in the Park. This is held in the Cafe gallery in Southwark Park. The theme this year has been tent making. One family had built a den near it was a piece of cardboard and my daughter Georgie said it looked like a tree. All the children, myself and one of the team of artists built a 3D tree using this cardboard twigs material leaves and tape. I am going to the exibition next week so I shall take a photo then. The day has been very positive. There are lots of trees at campsites. Georgie's ideas were so inspirational.

I have had some creative urges today and produced two projects one completed and one in the making. I made the card I started yesterday and I have stamped and coloured in some stampbord for a necklace project.

Today I am going to inspire my creative juices by searching blogs and websites for inspiration. I am also taking the kids facepainting so you never know I may get inspired by that! I am finding it hard to concentrate on stuff at the moment. The kids are on the six weeks holidays and there is a lot going on at the moment.

Inspiration is the key to my creativity at the moment. So I need to concentrate on inspiring myself! We are going tent making at Art in the park tomorrow so I will look out for some inspiration. I think that the colours the face paint artist used today will inspire me to create a project!

Glimmer Mists

I have been having a play today with the glimmer mists and this was the end result. I used some elusive image stamps too. I will construct a card and post that when it is finished! Does anyone know how to avoid the shiny glair when photographing glimmer mists?

Artylicious competition entry

I created this necklace for the artylicious competition. The challenge was to use stampboard to make a handcrafted item. You had to use elusive image stamps. I used glimmer mists on the stampbord to create a shimmering background I used pearl, creme de rouge and vanilla breeze. I then stamped on one of the images from the diamente delights design a flower stamps and used various wirework and beading techniques to create the chain. I am thrilled with the results!

Jewellery project

I made this flower pendant necklace with polymer clay. I designed a backing paper using a copyright free black and white image from a CD rom which I then coloured in on a graphics program. I then made it into a backing paper using My craft studio. I cut out petal shapes in the polymer clay and made this flower. I then cut out petal shapes in the backing paper and attatched them with glue to the clay. I then covered in liquid polymer clay and baked. I then created a co-ordinating chain using shop brought beads. Another successful project to be proud of.

A favourite of mine

This is a necklace I made a while ago but is a favourite of mine. It is made with polymer clay and seed/bugle beads. I have then created the chain with a series of handmade and shop brought beads. I love this necklace!

What I've been up to?

I have been away for a short break with my lovely family. I am back surfing the web for inspiration and I hope to be posting some new projects shortly. I have a load awaiting photography. My old catalogue is on my old PC so I will have to photograph it all agaiN. In the meantime here is a card I made the other day and I am very proud of. I used a copyright free image and manipulated it using My craft studio.

Monday, August 04, 2008

This is a necklace I designed using polymer clay, polymer clay stamps ( both from The polymer claypit www.polymerclaypit.co.uk) a backing paper I designed on my PC and them laminated. I cooked the clay and then using various self taught beading techniques I made this necklace.

August 4th 2008

This is a mousemat I created using bonusprint photoservices. It was created using an image from the copyright free CD rom that I then coloured using a graphics program and images of my children.

My first blog

Hi everyone this is my first go at blogging. I thought I would create a blog as it is a great way of sharing art and creativityness. I am itching to get a wider audience for my work so what better way to do it. I can meet fellow crafters and keep creating. The design above was from a pattern source CD with no copyright. I edited it on my graphics programme. Above is another design from that series. I also chose the colours and coloured in the design.
